Oh, how I do hate optus.

Optus is the biggest cack of a company I have ever experienced. I have had the really bad days thanks to their non existence customer services. I’m clearly over them, and I wish there was a substitute company out there where I could devote my services and phone connection to, but unfortunately there is little alternative outside the other blood sucking company Telstra. I’ve always wondered why people who work for these phone companies are sooooo slack and so bad at well… using the phone. You can never get a straight answer, or a proper explaination. You just have to keep repeating yourself and talking to some nong head across the other side of the world, and allowing him to speak over you while you at first patiently try to emphatise with his cultural conflicts. But then you find yourself getting angrier and angrier as he still doesnt understand you and still insists in ‘being sorry, but there’s nothing (i) can do’.

Seriously Optus, just freakin grow up, and take responsibility for your own actions. Stop palming customers around from one department to the next. Do you like the fact that we hate your guts and cant wait for there to be an alternative so we can leave your ass!?

So common get with the program!

I used to work for Optus for about 4 months before I got too frustrated from the plain idiocy of those people. It’s impossible to escalate anything to supervisors. It’s also interesting that we were instructed not to to put through complaints about the IVR (automated transfer system). They reiterated that by not fixing the specified IVR reporting tool when it broke on Feb 2007. I left in August, still not fixed. The staff who aren’t complete arsewipes are as frustrated as you are.

Oh… and you’re better off looking at independent ISPs… Telcos which also sell IP products do neither well.

I was with Optus as well, and after three months of phone calls that averaged about 40 minutes each involving on average 2 transfers and 10 minutes hold time and $120 of dishonour fees I managed to resolve the problem I had. I ended up getting my bank to block debits from Optus.

They were charging me NOTHING and I was getting a dishonour fee for non-payment. My bill read, amount owing $0, they debited $0 from my account, there was a block so I was getting a dishonour fee, it was insane. In the end I managed to get ONE fee cancelled but was still out of pocket $100.

I can state with confidence that I will never give my business to Optus or any Optus affiliated company or reseller in the future. I can state unequivocally that Optus has had the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with in my life.

It was interesting to read the comments made by GroovyBreadstick. All too often we are bombarded with overl loyal telco workers, who shriek incessantly that the internal problems of telco companies are in someway our own responsibilty. Thank you for your honesty, Breadstick.

Well..hmmm, our experience for Optus…hmmmm (am still angry) …anyhoo, joinied Optus, getting “Changed” to AAPT” in a :key stroke error”, long story short getting charged for two accounts for the next 19 MONTHS, then the operator drilled down to phone calls made, only to discover we were being charged for other ppls phone calls, fast forward Optus FINALLY accept responsibility and send us a cheque for $400, please bear in mind thats for over payment, sure as my shit stinks they sent us a bill not less than 5 days later for the F&*^!@$^&*()(^%$## refund! Anyhoo the saga continues , all I can say now is I love VOIP and Optus can lick my balls (if I had any but I’m a girl), the sweet justice I have is knowing I have had three friends cancel their L/L . BIG NOTE Optus have no way (i.e alerts) to advise that you are bing charged for other ppls phone calls. Their billing system is shit and always…always request the operator talk you through every call made, it is well worth it!

Maybe you should grow up and have some responsibility for your actions. If you go over then you go over, up the plan. If your plan doesn’t suit you there are other’s, it not that hard. Stop being tight arses and up your plan so you dont get charged the extras fees when you go over you limit. No customer service is perfect but if you had to be abused all day you would be the same, think about them. You would be pissed if you got abused all day. GROW UP. Read the fucking small print on your plan, if you get charged extra it because you are to stupid to to look not because the person serving you is to stupid to read your mind and know that your a tight arse that want’s unlimited everything for only $20 a month. STOP BEING A FUCKING TIGHT ARSE….IDOTS

Honestly, optus is just a piece of shit, and I seriously reccomend anyone who’s considering an optus contract to look at some other ones. Theres tons of other isps and plans that deserve your money, and optus is just a pain in the ass.

I’ve had too many bad experiences with douches in their customer service who won’t even lift a finger to do anything constructive.
